Come Oct. 16, Politics & Prose presents NYT bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell at Sixth & I synagogue in downtown Washington. He will discuss his latest book, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants. In it, a description on Amazon reads, “the #1 bestselling author challenges how we think about obstacles and disadvantages, offering a new interpretation of what it means to be discriminated against, or cope with a disability, or lose a parent, or attend a mediocre school, or suffer from any number of other apparent setbacks.” He examines murder, revenge and the troubles in Northern Ireland “all to demonstrate how much of what is beautiful and important in the world arises from what looks like suffering and adversity.”
One book and one ticket costs $40 ($35 for members). The event begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Visit here to purchase tickets. Gladwell also wrote The Tipping Point, Blink and Outliers.
Here’s to hoping this hairdo shows up and not a clean cut Gladwell.
