Most of you think that journalists & news orgs are too excited about Obama’s trip abroad. Five years ago today, Oday and Qusai Hussein were killed. It’s the birthday of Kay Bailey Hutchison, Bob Dole and….George Clinton. A GWU release announced, “Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ and former congressman (R-Fla.), will address graduates of GW’s Graduate School of Political Management during its 21st graduation ceremony. The celebrated political analyst will share his expertise in the areas of politics, legislation, and public service” this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre. Yeas & Nays reports, “A liberal press? ‘Hell no!’ says Helen Thomas.” Jay Rosen Twitters: “A curmudgeon is a newsroom personality type proposing that what journalists need to secure their future is a bigger and better crap detector.” BlogNetNews says: “curmudgeon is a newsroom personality type whose crap detector is damaged alerting on hope, optimism and change.” Today’s “Angry Journalist” rant of the day: “A realistic outlook from a current journalist: If you are in college right now studying journalism, I would advise you to change majors. Do not leave college without getting a minimum of a master’s degree in something other than journalism. Freelance, if you can find a freelancing gig, but do something else as a full-time profession.” Check out today’s White House Photo of the Day from Time.
