  • A release announced, “According to Nielsen Media Research data, ‘Meet the Press’ was the most-watched Sunday morning public affairs program, winning its 44th consecutive quarter for 3Q’08. For 3Q’08, the program was No. 1, averaging 3.732 million total viewers”

  • A release announced, “ABC News’ ‘Nightline’ posted its highest total viewership since the program’s relaunch in November 2005, according to Nielsen Media Research. ‘Nightline’ also outperformed CBS’ ‘Letterman’ among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the fifth straight week. Additionally, ‘Nightline’ displayed its smallest A25-54 gap with ‘Leno’ for the first week of a season in over ten years and the smallest total viewing gap in over 8 years.”

  • A release announced, “ABC’s coverage of the Vice Presidential debate on Thursday, October 3 averaged 13.13 million Total Viewers, a 5.1 among Adults 25-54, and a 4.2 among Adults 18-49.”

  • Comcast announced, “As part of our election coverage, Comcast is making the Presidential/Vice-Presidential debates available to viewers On Demand. … The debate, which is being provided by C-SPAN, will expand the depth of information already available from Comcast, which includes coverage of the Democratic and Republican conventions, major speeches from the candidates, Spanish language content and the first presidential debate. As soon as each the three remaining presidential debates take place, they will be made available the next day in the ‘Top Picks’ folder under ‘Elections.’ Additional election programming can be found On Demand in the ‘News & World’ folder under ‘Elections 08.’”

  • A release announced, “Moderator Gwen Ifill of PBS received more plaudits from supporters of Barack Obama than from supporters of John McCain for her conduct during the vice presidential debate in St. Louis on Thursday night. 2,500 volunteers joined an online panel to rate the debate using Free Press’ ‘Citizens Media Scorecard.’ The two groups of partisans were loyal to their own candidate: 80% of McCain supporters thought Sarah Palin won the debate; 89% of Obama supporters gave the nod to Joe Biden.”

  • A release announced, “ABC News’ ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ was #1 among the key Adult 25-54 demographic on Sunday, September 28, 2008, outperforming NBC’s ‘Meet the Press,’ according to Nielsen Media Research. This marks the second week in a row ‘This Week’ placed first among A25-54. It also marks the fifth straight week ‘This Week’ beat CBS’s ‘Face the Nation’ among key demo viewers. The last time ‘This Week’ placed first among A25-54 for two straight weeks was May, 2006.”
