Movement Afloat to Return Tapper to ‘This Week’?

ABC News White House Correspondent Jake Tapper gained a lot of attention over the weekend when he subbed for ABC’s “This Week.” Some  journos clamored for more and for a Tapper return to the Sunday morning program he hosted earlier this year until Christiane Amanpour permanently filled the slot.

“Boy is it a nice treat to turn on This Week and see @JakeTapper in the anchor seat.” — said Editor of Business Insider/The Wire Glynnis MacNicol in a weekend tweet. TWT‘s Eli Lake agreed, saying, “ABC This Week is ten times better when @jaketapper is hosting. I’m not just saying that cause we went to the same high school.” In addition, Mediaite wrote a memo to ABC that read: Don’t fight it. Return Jake Tapper to This Week.

Tapper didn’t argue with them. “Thanks for all the kind words, tweeperinos. #thisweek,” he wrote. Clarification: Tapper’s note of thanks was to all who sent kind words not just MacNicol and Lake.
