Musings
So is today the big day? Will the other shoe drop? What about a surprise third shoe? Or perhaps will it be sort of like that all-nighter in college where at the last minute you get a 24-hour extension?
Which is the most likely event today?
- Karl Rove is nominated for the Supreme Court.
- Patrick Fitzgerald takes a long leisurely lunch break at Signatures, gets wasted, and forgets to go back to work. The grand jury term expires.
- Scooter Libby flees to a nonextradition country in South America, and then, in an ironic twist of fate, the CIA uses extraordinary rendition to take him to Uzbekistan where he confesses to conspiracy to obstruct justice.
- All of Washington laughs as Ari Fleischer gets hit with a single count of perjury; everyone else escapes unharmed.
- Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, Vice President Cheney, Colin Powell, Judy Miller, and 31 other individuals at the CIA, White House, State Department, and the Pentagon are indicted as part of a massive conspiracy and cover-up.
Yea, we agree that #1 is just as likely as #5.
