NAB Names Former Senator New President & CEO
Today the National Association of Broadcasters named former two-term US Senator from Oregon Gordon Smith its new President and CEO, according to MediaWeek. He succeeds David Rehr, who resigned in May.
Smith served in the Senate from 1996-2008 and sat on the Senate Commerce Committee, which oversees all broadcast-related legislation, so he has some good experience. He’ll hold his first NAB meeting in mid-October.
