NJ Hires the ‘Wicked Smart’ Susan Davis and Fawn Johnson

<img alt="davis.jpg" src="/fishbowlDC/files/original/davis.jpg" width="200" class="alignleft" hspace="3" vspace="3"/ WSJ political blog writer Susan Davis and Dow Jones Newswire and WSJ‘s Fawn Johnson are joining the National Journal Group.

The new website launches in the fall.

Both women are longtime Washington journalists. And for both, going to work for NJ is a homecoming of sorts. This isn’t Davis’s first stint at NJ. Davis (pictured here) previously worked for CongressDaily. Her first job there was in the research department of the Almanac of American Politics. This also isn’t Johnson’s first job at NJ. She previously covered health care, labor and immigration for CongressDaily.

Congratulations to both Davis and Johnson.

More details on Susan and Fawn after the jump…

“Fawn and Sue are both wicked smart and deeply sourced journalists who know how to dig beyond the talking points and spin to give our readers and subscribers the news they need to know,” said Editor-in-Chief Ron Fournier.

Susan Davis: She comes to National Journal Group from The Wall Street Journal, where she has been the lead writer for the popular political blog, “Washington Wire.” A member of the Wall Street Journal’s political team since September 2007, Davis covered the 2008 presidential campaign, Congress, and congressional campaigns. Prior to that, she covered the U.S. House for Roll Call.

Fawn Johnson: She joins National Journal Group as the General Assignment Correspondent, covering a range of issues including transportation and education. Johnson comes to National Journal from Dow Jones Newswires and the Wall Street Journal, where she covered financial regulation and telecommunications. She is also an alumnus of National Journal, where she reported on health care, labor and immigration for CongressDaily.
