NPR Teaches Listeners to Rap the Volcano

NPR newscaster Korva Coleman and producer Renita Jablonski came up with a funny bit to help people pronounce the impossibly-named Icelandic volcano, ‘Eyjafjallajokull’, that’s causing annoyances for air travelers.

Perhaps being able to say it will help relieve the stress it’s causing (that was the idea, anyway). You can check out their rap at NPR News’ Two-Way blog here.

The audio also features the voice of NPR correspondent Joe Palca, who visited the volcano over the weekend, in between Korva’s pronunciations and exclamations of “Bring it, baby!”
