Say hello to Peter Cook- not the guy who married and divorced Christie Brinkley- Bloomberg’s Washington correspondent and morning news programming anchor.
What does your morning reading list include? At 3:55am I go straight to Bloomberg top stories on my Blackberry (with the lights off so I don’t wake my wife). I read the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and NY Times time permitting. I leave so early in the morning, only the Journal has been delivered to my house.
What single person has played the biggest role or has had the biggest influence on your career? My father. He’s the definition of integrity.
How many suits do you own? 10 but they don’t all fit.
What is the name of your cell phone ring? It’s the default ring. Everyone in the office hates it and I have no idea how to change it.
How many emails do you receive a day? How many do you answer? 500+… I respond to 30. Sorry if I missed yours.
Where do you power-lunch? At the world famous Bloomberg canteen.
What’s your favorite or go-to drink? Pacifico with a lime.
Who is your favorite active journalist? Bob Schieffer… great guy and a great role model.
What subject line in an email grabs your attention? “This is your wife. Please read me!”
What section of the Sunday Washington Post do you read first? Sports
If you ran a doctor’s office or a bank, what cable station would you have on in your waiting room or lobby? Bloomberg Television or ESPN
Who would you most enjoy seeing parodied on SNL? Somali pirates
Leno or Letterman? Stewart or Colbert? Letterman & Stewart
Taking a cue from The Chris Matthews Show here, tell us something we don’t know… I’m not the Peter Cook who married and divorced Christie Brinkley, although I have received some of his mail.
Continued after the jump…
What kind of dog should the Obamas get and what should they name their new pet? I’m fine with the Portugese water dog but they should have called him Duke to balance the President picking Carolina in his bracket.
