Two weeks out of the midterm election, Republicans and Democrats alike are spending record amounts of campaign cash. But how much of that cash is coming from media types? Al Tompkins points out the top media contributors via opensecrets.org. 61 percent of all contributions from the television, film and music industries went to Democrat candidates.

Time Warner contributed more than $1.3 million, with more than 70 percent of that going to Democrats.

Clear Channel Communications contributed more than $600,000 with 65 percent going to Republicans.

Newspapers and magazines contributed substantially less, with the largest contribution being just over $250,000. 69 percent of all contribution in the newspaper, magazine and books industries went to Democrat candidates, as well.
