Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
There are polls and bingo games. But the true weathervane of the Valerie Plame affair (and whether heads will roll) may come from Sportsbook.com’s odds on Karl Rove remaining in the White House (the only online gambling site that features the issue, as far as we can tell).
And Mr. Rove’s fortunes have certainly changed over the past week. In a Sportsbook.com release, they say that “in light of the looming indictment and consquent bettor activity, Sportsbook.com has posted a significant shift in odds on whether Karl Rove will leave the White House. Most recent betting trends indicate that bettors now believe it is more likely Rove will leave the White House as a result of Fitzgerald‘s findings.”
On October 17, the odds of Rove leaving the White House were 10-11. Now they’re 5-9.
Odds of Rove running in the tonight’s High Heel Race through Dupont? Anybody’s guess. Could make for an interesting way to sneak out of town…
