Revolving Door – 12.19.05

2sarahschaffer-thumb.jpgAn interesting move at DC Style to note today: Sarah Schaffer, a former Baltimore Sun writer and the articles editor for DC Style since its inception earlier this year, has been promoted to overall editor of DC Style and Philly Style. Previous editor Susan Stapleton will be pursuing opportunities elsewhere (read between the lines, folks).

The move also brings in a new face from the Washington Examiner: Christie Findlay, the start-up paper’s national editor, will replace Schaffer as articles editor.

Some other Revolving Door entries for today:

  • Robert Krulwich, a former ABC “Nightline” reporter, is returning to National Public Radio as a science correspondent. Names & Faces reminds us of the opera he once penned an opera to answer the question “What does the Federal Reserve do exactly?”

  • DCRTV says that Justin Webb will be taking the DC anchor position for BBC World News as siren Katty Kay heads out on maternity leave.

  • Also, a belated note that ABC is switching up its media relations machine here in Washington: Publicist Natalie Raabe has been promoted to “World News Tonight” in New York and Alison Bridgman, a former NY ABCer, will be assisting Emily Lenzner here on “Nightline” and “This Week.”

> Late this afternoon, ABC News also named David Kerley as a Washington-based general assignment correspondent. Since joining the network last year, Kerley has served as an overnight anchor and reporter for “World News Now,” “World News This Morning,” and ABC News Now.
