Revolving Door 6.14.05

Three interesting media personnel notes today:

  • In a sign that maybe the Examiner’s new publisher is beginning to make his presence felt, David Mastio, the paper’s founding editorial editor, has disappeared from the masthead. The former USA Today ed board member left the Examiner just six months after he arrived.

  • In a rare female addition to the magazine’s masthead, Kate Marsh, the senior editor of the Washington City Paper, is leaving to become a deputy editor at The New Republic. She’ll start June 30th and be editing pieces on domestic policy, politics, and culture.

  • Former USA Today reporter Tom Squitieri, who resigned under pressure last month after he used quotes from an Indy Star article without attribution, has joined Dittus Communications, a D.C. public affairs firm.

If you know of other hires/fires/promotions/transfers/beat changes in the D.C. media world, email us or use the tip box.
