RNC Spokesman Defies Gridiron Rules

As of this morning, the Republican National Committee is going against the no-camera rules imposed by the Gridiron Club. Spokesman Sean Spicer has posted a video of the dinner on YouTube.

Watch here.

Spicer, however, isn’t the first renegade on this front. As we reported a few days after the dinner, the Washington Bureau Chief of the Minneapolis Star Tribune also posted footage from the dinner on a Star Tribune blog. Tribune‘s Kevin Diaz, who posted the video, told FishbowlDC, “Welcome to the digital age. It’s 2013, people have iPhones.”

We’ve requested comment from Spicer and Gridiron President Chuck Lewis of Hearst.

UPDATE: Spicer tells FishbowlDC, “I was honored to be invited and hope I haven’t done anything inadvertently that violates the rules.  If I have I apologize and will correct whatever I can.”

UPDATE#2: At the time that we published our post, the video was able to be watched. Spicer has since made it private.
