As you already have heard, John Stanton is leaving Roll Call. He’s going to become the Washington Bureau Chief for the new website Buzzfeed.

John came to Roll Call in 2005 from Congress Daily, and in the years since then he has been a pillar (pun intended) of our congressional leadership coverage. John at his best is as good as they come and he knows the Hill inside and out. Over the last year, he’s been our go-to reporter on one of the biggest stories in Congress, the management challenge Speaker John Boehner has faced with his conservative conference. John has broken news, spotted trends and challenged conventional wisdom.

We’ll miss, but we wish him the best of luck in his new role.
