Roll Call Changes

Three recent announcements…

  • Amelia Gruber is Roll Call’s new Features Editor. “She will oversee the Around the Hill section and other features, stepping into a role that her predecessor Amy Carlile did such a fine job of developing,” wrote Charlie Mitchell in an internal email obtained by FishbowlDC. “Amelia brings an impressive mix of editorial management and reporting experience, as well as a keen understanding of the Capitol Hill community. Amelia is currently managing editor of GovExec.com, where she manages a staff of six reporters who cover various aspects of the executive branch. Prior to moving into the management ranks, Amelia was a staff writer for Government Executive Magazine, where she focused heavily on feature and investigative stories, and a correspondent for GovExec.com. Amelia earned her master’s degree at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism — she braved a winter in Chicago for the Medill News Service as part of that program.”

  • Matt Savener is moving from the Omaha World-Herald to Roll Call, where he will be a copy editor.

  • Marketing Director Jen Myers is leaving for the Aspen Institute, where she will become the deputy director of communications & public affairs.
