We’ve received a CQ Roll Call internal memo sent by William Kiniry, VP of Brand Management & Strategy, to Editorial staff announcing two new PR hires.

1. Rebecca Gale: Director of Promotions (former Communications Director to West Virginia Democrat Sen. Jay D. Rockefeller)

2. Sujata Mitra: Will work under Gale as Manager of Media Relations. She most recently worked at the PR firm, Allison and Partners.

Greetings Editorial,

I am pleased to announce that we have made two strategic hires in the PR and Promotion discipline.

Next Wednesday (1/19), Rebecca Gale will start as our new director of promotions. Rebecca will head up our promotion strategy and implementation. She will also oversee our media relations and booking operation. Rebecca comes to us after 9 years in communications on Capitol Hill, most recently as communications director for Senator Rockefeller. Rebecca’s extensive experience as a national spokesperson and communications professional makes her the ideal asset in achieving our promotions and PR objectives.

Answering in to Rebecca is Sujata Mitra, our new Manager of Media Relations. She will maintain focus on booking editorial talent in the on-air space. Sujata comes to us from public relations firm Allison and Partners where she secured placements for clients in national print, online and broadcast media. Before that, she worked in the television industry as a booker/producer for Al Jazeera English, John McLaughlin’s One on One and local networks. Her first day is Monday, January 24.

I am very excited to have Rebecca and Sujata on board and look forward to kick-starting our promotions and public relations efforts. In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out so that Rebecca and Sujata can get familiar with our editorial talent.
