Roll Call Nixes Friday Print Edition

Roll Call will soon drop its Friday print edition. Look for the change to happen after the July recess.

Beth Bronder, SVP and Publisher of CQ Roll Call, told FishbowlDC the following in an email through a publicist: “As with most other media organizations, the way CQ Roll Call readers consume news and information continues to shift dramatically from print to online, and Roll Call is aggressively focusing our attention on digital-first editorial features that appeal to readers and advertisers alike. We’ve launched several new blogs and online features in the last 8 months and have seen our site traffic increase over 60%. In that light, we will still publish the same content Roll Call readers have relied on, on Fridays, via RollCall.com, including features such as the “Hill Life” section, which will also appear in the Thursday print edition. This section will now include book reviews, a sports page and Hill Climbers. So while we will no longer be publishing a Friday print issue we will in fact be publishing more content on Friday via the web and more Capitol Hill lifestyle features in print on Thursday and online Friday.”
