Ron Fournier Has Had Better Days

The Associated Press’ D.C. Bureau Chief is getting killed by the blogosphere (and was the top item on the Huffington Post last night) for an email he sent to Karl Rove in 2004, in which he told the former White House political guru to “keep up the fight.”

Fournier has explained:

I was an AP political reporter at the time of the 2004 e-mail exchange, and was interacting with a source, a top aide to the president, in the course of following an important and compelling story. I regret the breezy nature of the correspondence.

Speaking of people having rough days, Media Matters‘ campaign against John McLaughlin for calling Sen. Barack Obama an “Oreo” is picking up steam, as evidenced by the Drudge link it garnered yesterday.
