Shady Subpoenas

Radio shock jocks are hardy strangers to law enforcement, and DC 101′s Elliot Segal is no exception. The Washington Times’ Dan Caterinicchia reports that Segal has been subpoenaed by the Department of Justice. Segal was given no reason for the subpoena, but did allow listeners to weigh in on theories.

Segal told the Times, “It’s nothing I personally am overly concerned about.” He has after all been fined more than $300,000 for indecency by the FCC over the years. Segal declined to discuss the specifics of the government inquiry, and added that he is no longer allowed to discuss it on the air. Segal’s parent, Clear Channel Communications, received the subpoena last week.

Hmm… A super secret subpoena from the DoJ. Conspiracy theories anyone?
