Shining FOIA Where the Sun Don’t Shine

This week’s edition of On the Media has an interesting piece regarding last week’s “Sunshine Week” and the three bills currently facing the Senate regarding the Freedom of Information Act. The segment, an interview with Texas Senate John Cornyn, who as one of the co-sponsors of the “Faster FOIA” bill, explains that the new law gives bloggers the right to request a fee waiver for any FOIA requests–just like real journalists. It’s a step in the right direction, although obviously the government still believes you can’t make a living as a blogger.
