So Just Who Has Been Tweeting @WhiteHouse? Mystery Solved

The mystery plaguing the blogosphere since White House press secretary Robert Gibbsappearance on C-SPAN Friday morning has finally been solved. Who has been Tweeting updates on @WhiteHouse if Twitter if blocked on White House computers? Especially since most of @WhiteHouse’s updates are “from web.”

WUSA crack reporter Lindsey Mastis reports back to us that according to the White House, select staffers have been granted Twitter access- the New Media Team is in charge of the Twitter Account.

Because of the Presidential Records Act, every Tweet would have to be archived, which isn’t easy to do. Mastis says even the technologically saavy and blackberry toting President has to work with the “New Media Team” to Tweet.

>>RELATED: One of our faves at Mediaite, Rachel Sklar, went straight to source, asking White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton what’s up with Twitter and the White House. An excerpt:

Would it be fair to call Robert Gibbs “internet-savvy?” Or would it be hideously inaccurate?

I’ve never known him to exactly break new ground as it relates to technology – but he’s a real whiz on his blackberry.
