Someone You May Want to Friend on Facebook…
Facebook has hired DC flack Corey Owens to join its government affairs team. Like Tim Sparapani, FB’s Director of Public Policy, Owens worked in the D.C. office of the ACLU (now two of the four DC staff have ACLU ties) then as press secretary at the Constitution Project. He’ll leave his post as spokesperson for the United Food and Commercial Workers union next week.
Owens broke the news on – where else? – Facebook: “My Facebook status seems like the right place to do this: In just over a week I’ll be moving down Connecticut Ave to join the good folks at Facebook Washington DC! Truly psyched to work on really pressing issues with an exciting company.”
