Crossfire‘s Stephanie Cutter has a side gig. President Obama appointed her yesterday to serve on the Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. The fluffy position probably won’t distract Stephanie too much from her main job, which is good because Van Jones can’t be expected to take on S.E. Cupp and Newt Gingrich all by himself!
We were also surprised to see that Kal Penn is dipping his toe again into the Washington waters as part of the Committee as well. Here’s the gist from Deadline.com:
Obama Tuesday named his former Deputy Campaign Manager as a Member for the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities…A low impact patronage post, the Committee traditionally has the current First Lady as its Honorary Chair and Michelle Obama serves in that capacity for her husband’s administration…Cutter isn’t the only small screener to be named to the Committee lately. On Monday, former House star Kal Penn was appointed to Committee on the Arts and Humanities by the President. Leaving Hollywood for a spell, the Harold and Kumar actor worked for the administration in its early years and spoke at last year’s Democratic National Convention.
