Political Power Set to Host Book Fete

Anita Dunn, Anne Fleming, Rhoda Glickman, Tammy Haddad, Valerie Jarrett, Anita McBride, and Hilary Rosen will host a party to celebrate Graham Moore‘s new book “The Sherlockian” on December 6, 2010.    Son of  Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, Susan Sher, the twenty-eight-year-old Moore is a graduate of Columbia University and first-time novelist. 

The event is being held at the home of Hilary Rosen from 6.30 – 8.30 pm.  Expect a big White House showing for the fete.  For more on Moore and his new novel, visit his blog here.

Want to live vicariously through President Obama’s first State Dinner?

Politico will have live video coverage of the State Dinner streaming on its website beginning at 11:10am today. Anchored by Mike Allen, Eamon Javers, Patrick Gavin and others Politicos, coverage will include First Lady Michelle Obama’s dinner preview, guest arrivals, President Obama and Indian Prime Minister Singh’s toasts and some of the evening’s entertainment (which we have learned Jennifer Hudson will headline).

Carol Lee and Nia Malika-Henderson will provide updates from the White House and guests include former chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush Anita McBride and former White House social secretary to President Clinton Ann Stock, as pictured above with Allen.

Just after CBS’ Lara Logan appeared on “Charlie Rose” to discuss Afghanistan and war coverage this week, Rose hosted NBC’s Richard Engel and Max Cleland, former Senator and head of the Veterans Administration, and Vietnam veteran. That show re-airs tonight at 8pm.

Logan and other CBS-ers David Martin, Byron Pitts, Scott Pelley and their producers shared stories of their experiences reporting in Afghanistan on last night’s “Evening News.” There was also a voiceover from Cami McCormick, who was injured in Afghanistan this summer. Watch here.

At noon today, C-SPAN will host a live webcast with Sen. Tom Harkin and guest reporters NYT‘s David Herszenhorn and The Hill‘s Jeffrey Young.
