Ron Meyer: Self-identified conservative activist, self-promoter and press secretary for American Majority Action (AMA), a right wing nonprofit which aims to reduce the size of the federal government.

Celia Bigelow: Youth engagement director at AMA. Also, Meyer’s main squeeze (girlfriend).

Matthew Boyle: Journalist/activist of Breitbart News and noted ankle-biter.

Lewis published an “open letter” Sunday in The Daily Caller to take Meyer to task for making false predictions on FNC. Previously, Meyer told the network’s vastly Republican viewing audience two things: There was a coalition of House Republicans essentially staging a coup to remove John Boehner as speaker. More importantly, he said Boehner knew of the plan and would resign.

His second false statement was a prediction Boyle bolstered by reporting on it at Breitbart.

As we now know, Boehner was reelected by all but a handful of his fellow Republicans. Boyle responded to a request for comment but did not address the matter at hand.

Lewis posted his open letter after Meyer declined to appear on Lewis’s podcast. (We’re told Meyer initially said he’d like to do the show, but his boss refused to let him.) “I was hoping to casually drop some advice,” wrote Lewis in the letter. “But despite the fact that your bosses at American Majority Action had no problem allowing you to go on TV and talk shit about Boehner, talking with me on the record was somehow deemed too risky.”

The Embassy was hosting a party for FNC The Five‘s Greg Gutfeld who has a book coming out next month. Gutfeld’s book, The Joy of Hate, is dedicated to the late Andrew Breitbart. It’s a commentary on the knee-jerk reaction people have to cry foul at anything and everything. Gutfeld said young and old people as well as “people that are not young or old” should read the book.

Party invitations inexplicably featured an old ’90s TV screenshot of Gutfeld from when he worked for Men’s Health. In the photograph, a buff Gutfeld is in a tank top and has a high-top haircut. “How dare you,” he said when we brought it up.

The movie makes you miss the good natured Andrew Breitbart, who died suddenly of a bad heart in March. Think what you will of his politics, and his countless enemies, Breitbart made politics fun when he engaged.

The mood at the after party was upbeat, with booze flowing and most of the conversations revolving around the late subject of the film. All mentioned how he was missed. Everyone had positive, funny stories to share.

In attendance were Marcus, the director, producers Maura Flynn and Evan Coyne Maloney, Larry Solov, Andrew’s life-long friend, business partner and now head-honcho, Breitbart.com’s “Minister of Culture” Jon Kahn, Breitbart.com editors Larry O’Connor and Mike Flynn, Slate’s Dave Weigel (because what’s a party without him?), WMAL’s morning show producer Heather Smith, New York Daily News and Townhall’s Derek Hunter, the Franklin Center’s Tabitha Hale, Washington Times reporter Kerry Picket, former TWT Editor Sam Dealey, Buckley Carlson and the ubiquitous David Bass of Raptor Strategies.

Coulter was interviewed by Human Events prior to the signing and it ran long. Thomas Winter, the paper’s editor, told FishbowlDC Coulter alerted him she was going to return to her hotel to change clothes before heading to ATR. “Having a wife… I know what it’s like when a woman says she’s going to be somewhere as soon as she can,” he said.

Some 70 people showed up at the event to have Coulter sign copies of her new book Mugged. She signed all of them before heading to the “First Friday” monthly gathering of young conservatives near Capitol Hill.

On CSPAN Friday morning, Coulter, known for attacking the news media, said “the entire mainstream media is pretending” her new book “doesn’t exist.” On her way out we asked her to name the most fair national reporter. “[Fox News'] Brit Hume,” she said without skipping a beat. When asked to name the least fair reporter, she said “Everyone on MSNBC.” How about one specific reporter? She named former Newsweek editor Jonathan Alter. “Is he considered a journalist? Probably not,” she said.

With that, Coulter exited the building, cup of wine in hand.

Alter responded to Coulter’s comments in an email to FBDC. He said she named him “because we appeared on television many times together before she was famous and she insisted on going on alone, and each time I owned her.”

Coulter must have struck a chord. Alter sent another email immediate after: “P.S: Does she even know what the word ‘fair’ means?” he said. “We know that if she does, she doesn’t consider it a compliment.  That means she must be saying something nice about me. Thanks, Ann!”

Limbaugh gave what can only be described as a passionate, if a little frantic and long-winded speech on just how bad he wants President Barack Obama to lose the election. Limbaugh said he’s been asked if he simply writes books to make money. “If I had to choose between having a successful book and Obama winning and having an unsuccessful book and Obama losing,” he said, “I’d choose the latter.”

After the speech the floor was opened for Q&A. Because no one piped up immediately, Limbaugh volunteered TWT‘s Emily Miller who he is obviously familiar with, to ask something. Miller, known for writing a series of columns on the trouble of legally obtaining a gun in D.C., asked, “What’s gonna happen to our guns if this man (Obama) is elected?” From nearby Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) chimed in, “Keep them loaded.”

Shortly after we spotted Miller’s colleague Kerry Picket whose left leg was all kinds of banged up. She told us the black and blue bruises around her shin and knee were caused from a mountain biking accident. “I supermanned over the handlebars” Picket told us. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, though she seemed fine.

During dessert time we watched in amazement as D.C. publicist Janet Donovan skipped over the actual food and opted to eat the blackberry garnishes scattered around the platters. “Garnish is my favorite,” Donovan said, snatching up the for-decoration berries.

On Tuesday there was grand confusion when Bloomberg cited WaPo for breaking the news that Rick Santorum was suspending his presidential campaign. WaPo did break the news, but not in print, not online and not on Twitter. Needless to say, no one bothered to inform many of their reporters.

Gawker’s Fox News Mole: The fallout
