Great news to start the day! Emily Hershenson, the Adams Morgan mom and former Cap Hill press secretary who disappeared Monday during her morning commute, has been found. In an early Wednesday morning post on the “Help Find Emily” Facebook group wall, Emily’s husband, Tom Hershenson wrote:
“Just got off the phone with Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)–Emily has been located!
Details still coming in…update to follow once we know more…looks like there will be an initial evaluation at hospital to make sure she’s ok…THANKS to everyone for all your help and support!! Have a good night’s rest!!”
WTOP reports that Emily was identified near the National Mall and museums a little before 2 a.m. this morning and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Hershenson told WTOP that Emily is “relieved, exhausted, asleep.” What caused the new mom to disappear for nearly 48 hours is still unknown but Hershenson claims his wife sounded disoriented when he last spoke to her at around 9 a.m. on Monday morning.
*Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word. In less than 12 hours our post about Hershenson was added to Facebook an astonishing 500 times and tweeted at least 442 times. If I’m ever in trouble, I certainly want FishbowlDC readers on my side – truly a remarkable group of people.
