On the topic of a Georgia mall that told a fitness group who formed a prayer circle that doing so was against mall policy, Cupp and co-host Whoopi Goldberg seemed not to see eye to eye on the issue, and because Goldberg couldn’t differentiate between two scenarios Cupp was referencing. Read more
We missed “The View” this morning but caught up this afternoon on FOX 5 chief investigative reporter Emily Miller‘s second time in a week guest hosting the show in her bid for a permanent spot at the table.
Unfortunately for Miller, regular co-host Whoopi Goldberg was not in the best of moods after backlash from viewers for comments she made Monday on teacher tenure, leading her to speak over or cut off the Emily Gets her Gun author. And Goldberg wasn’t the only one who didn’t want to hear what Miller had to say. Many on Twitter weren’t too nice either (h/t Peter Ogburn).
Whether or not Miller is still in the running is still up in the air. Also from Washington, the same goes for CNN’s S.E. Cupp, who guest hosted twice in July.
In the meantime, for a behind the scenes look at “The View,” click through to see Miller’s tweets from her morning at the Upper West Side ABC studios. Read more

FOX 5 DC chief investigative reporter Emily Miller guest-hosted “The View” Thursday morning, and in the show’s opening, the Emily Gets Her Gun author shared her experience with online dating. Miller’s comments preceded the brides from ABC’s “Married at First Sight” appearance as guests on the program.
“I’ve been out there…I’ve been dating…There’s nobody left,” said Miller, to which host Jenny McCarthy replied, “I used to think the same exact thing.”
Miller is one of several women, including CNN’s S.E. Cupp, being considered for the “conservative” role ABC is looking to fill.
Check out her clip, from today’s program, below.
FOX 5 DC chief investigative reporter Emily Miller is set to guest-host “The View” Thursday morning, and a source confirms that she is one of several women being considered for the “conservative” role they’re looking to fill.
Several other names of women being considered include MSNBC “The Cycle” co-host Abby Huntsman and CNN’s Margaret Hoover. WGN’s Ana Belaval and ABC News’ Sara Haines also guest hosted, the same week that Meghan McCain did, although the “TakePart Live” co-host told Refinery29 last week that she would not be joining the show. Fox News Latino also reports that “Good Morning LA’s” Lauren Sanchez and former assistant US attorney Sunny Hostin are being considered.
Miller, known throughout Washington for her “Emily Gets Her Gun” column for The Washington Times and nationally after turning it into a book, will likely prove herself a top contender given her strong debate skills with the ability to remain composed.

Watch out Emily Miller…WJLA has some competition for you!
Just weeks after The Washington Times senior opinion editor announced her move to Fox 5 as its chief investigative reporter, Joce Sterman from Baltimore’s WMAR announced today on Twitter she’s headed to WJLA. Sterman covered consumer and investigative reporting at Baltimore’s ABC affiliate, where she’s been since 2007.
While we’re told investigative reporting won’t be Sterman’s only duties, we expect to see her skills in competition with Miller.
Congrats to Sterman, starting May 12, and again to Miller, who joins Fox 5 next week.
Via our sister site TVSpy, Emily Miller has been named chief investigative reporter for Fox 5 to begin April 28.
Miller, who currently serves as the senior editor of The Washington Times’ Opinion Pages, has previously worked in ABC News’ DC bureau as an associate producer for “This Week” and “Good Morning America.” She is the author of Emily Gets Her Gun … But Obama Wants to Take Yours (Regnery 2013) and won the 2012 Clark Mollenhoff Award for Investigative Reporting from The Fund For American Studies’ Institute on Political Journalism.
“FOX 5 is giving me the opportunity to uncover corruption, investigate criminals and challenge the power structure in Washington,” Miller said. “I’m looking forward to working with such a talented team that brings D.C. the facts and insight into the stories that everyone is talking about, or should be talking about.”
