Baby Boy for CQRC’s Ortman

We told you a few weeks ago that CQ Roll Call Copy Chief Emily Ortman was preparing for maternity leave.  Today we’re happy to report that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.  At 4.20 this morning Emily and new papa, Joe Stark, welcomed to the world Eric James Stark.  In an internal announcement, Ortman’s colleagues  joked that baby Eric, who weighs 6 pounds 7 ounces, will be fully-versed in AP style by the time he leaves the hospital.  Congrats to Emily and Joe.  Welcome to the Fishbowl little Eric!

Roll Call’s Ortman Breaks for Baby

A temporary Fishbowl farewell and early congratulations to  CQ Roll Call copy chief Emily Ortman.  She’ll take a break from the newsgroup’s copy desk to begin maternity leave in the next few weeks.  Jonathan Kelly, former copy editor at Tax Analysts and the Washington Times,  will fill in as a freelancer while Ortman’s out.  Congrats to Emily!

 

Roll Call Organizes Copy/Design Team

Slowly but surely, Roll Call is filling slots on its reorganized copy/design team. Emily Ortman is being promoted to Copy Desk Chief. She has been at the paper for three years. Blake Whitney, meanwhile, will be the Deputy Design Director.  And Sara Bondioli will be the Deputy Copy Chief. Emily and Sara will honcho a team of copy editors.
