We’ve taken a few weeks off our penis project. But we’re back this week to keep an eye on how many johnsons are scheduled to appear on the programs this weekend. As usual, NBC’s “Meet the Press” is weak on estrogen while “The Chris Matthews Show”  is a steady 50/50. Also as usual, PBS’s Gwen Ifill has a strong showing of female guests.

Things are looking up for females on at least some of the Sunday morning programs this weekend, as we conduct our routine count of how many wangs will appear on the shows. Please note minor and major changes to the feature. This week we’re including “Washington Week” with Gwen Ifill despite the fact that it airs live on Friday and repeats on Saturday. As you can see, the program is not allergic to women. This week you’ll also notice a smaller-sized photograph. FishbowlMatt approached yesterday saying some were offended by the larger sized penis picture as it was rubbing some the wrong way. So we’ve shrunk the penises and framed them in gaudy gold for a more refined look.

As promised, Politico released Part II of their video Year in Review series this morning. The same reporters are involved — Jeanne Cummings, Mike Allen, Kenneth Vogel, Nia-Malika Henderson and Patrick Gavin.

Topics addressed include Town Hall Meetings (watch for the man in a Hawaiian shirt getting irate), Obama’s Pulitzer, the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and more.

The video touches on Obama’s perceived larger-than-life persona, with Allen jokingly adding, “Someone told me he should award himself the National Medal of Freedom and get it over with.”

Politico reporters came together to create their “2009: Year in Review” video. Included are cameos from Jeanne Cummings, Mike Allen, Jonathan Martin and Patrick Gavin.

Washingtonian (and former FishbowlDC’er) Garrett Graff is out with the magazine’s picks for the “50 Top Journalists 2009.”

The list has existed in Washington since 1973 and is always put together based on interviews with various DC journos, though this year’s is particularly unique because of the changing landscape of journalism. Another milestone– for the first time since 1973, neither David Broder or Bob Novak appear, as both retired from what the mag calls “day-to-day journalism” in 2009.

By our count, WaPo leads with ten journos, NYT not far behind with nine and relatively new, Politico has nabbed two well-deserved spots on the list (Mike Allen and Jeanne Cummings). On the TV side, NBC and ABC are tied with three each; CBS and CNN each have two.
