This week we learn that Rachael Bade is leaving CQ Roll Call for Politico Pro. She joins her former colleague Joe Schatz, who will also be there as a tax editor.

Our tipster described the move as “going from the Titanic to a heavy-duty battleship.”

Bade had no comment on her move.

CQ Roll Call is losing another employee. As we reported recently, it’s Joe Schatz, who is joining Politico Pro’s finance team. Hope he has a good, solid self-esteem that can’t be shaken by an angry editor (wink wink, Tim Grieve, who won our Worst Temper in Washington Summer Superlative).

The parting email from Schatz:

“Just a quick note to let you know that today will be my last day at CQ – I’m starting next week as tax editor over Politico, on the new PoliticoPro finance/tax team. My new email looks to be jschatz@politico.com, but I’ll be in touch when I’m set up over there.”

Politico has hired senior CQ Roll Call budget and economy reporter Joe Schatz to run tax coverage ahead of fiscal talks. The news first surfaced on Twitter last night during GOP National Convention coverage.

It’s a big year for Schatz. In February his wife gave birth to a baby girl they named Liela Amani.

Parsa, little Leila and I just got home from the hospital. See attached for a photo. Leila Amani Schatz arrived on the scene at 5:58 pm on Friday evening, weighing in at 6 lbs, 10 oz, healthy and beautiful, like her mother, who is doing great.
