Everywhere you look these days, someone is offended about something. So let’s begin with the offending tweet.

Washington Examiner‘s conservative columnist Byron York retweeted the offensive nugget and remarked, “Actual WaPo tweet.” A Capitol Hill aide who would only speak on condition of anonymity said, “Hey, let’s dismiss and marginalize those who are concerned about the lives lost at Benghazi!”

They weren’t alone in their outrage. Many others followed suit:

Jenna Brockman of Austin, Texas: “@washingtonpost i’m a broke white girl and i’m following every MINUTE of #Benghazi b/c i CARE about THIS COUNTRY. UNFOLLOWING U IMMEDIATELY.”

Marie from Texas: “Hi @washingtonpost I’m in my twenties and I’m a female who is tweeting about #BenghaziHearing. Looks like you’re wrong & also an asshole.”

Jon Gabriel: “Not dead service foreign service personnel.”

LK: “What in the real life fuck?!”

Trish: “@washingtonpost You people are disgusting. No wonder Reagan called you the Washington COMPOST!”

Don Surber, editorial writer for the Charleston Daily Mail: “I remember when the Washington Post was a newspaper. Now it it’s a Twitter Trolling Attention Whore.”

Townhall‘s Katie Pavlich: “Hi @washingtonpost not only am I tweeting about Benghazi, I’m at the hearing wearing a red dress & heels. Not exactly a rich-middle aged man.”

“Thank you NRA,” tweeted Town Hall Editor Katie Pavlich. Mediaite‘s liberal columnist Tommy Christopher inserted himself into the debate, saying, “Yeah, thanks for the next dead children. And the previous.” What followed was a back and forth that rivals one of the famous Piers Morgan-Dana Loesch shootouts.

“Really Christopher? You’re still pulling the ‘you want dead children’ card?” replied Pavlich. “Grow up.”

Christopher argued that background checks on gun buyers and limits on gun magazines are reasonable forms of regulation on firearms. He continued to say that Second Amendment enthusiasts were insensitive to children killed by guns.

“Nice, keep playing that card,” Pavlich said again. “And just for your information, my ‘high capacity’ magazine is standard protection against bad guys, like [Jared] Loughner.” Loughner was sentenced to life in prison after shooting up a political rally in Arizona in 2011.

“I’d respect you more if you just admitted that your reloading convenience is more valuable than saving one kid,” Christopher replied.

In a Monday story that’ll make you actually want to hit somebody, Yahoo! News‘s Chris Moody recounted an incident at CPAC wherein former child conservative star Jonathan Krohn, now 18, is borderline bullied by a gaggle of right-wing bloggers.

One of the bloggers challenged the report as inaccurate, but Moody, having recorded the whole thing, was able to prove his story is straighter than a game of beer pong in a frat house.

On the second day of CPAC Krohn, who was attending as a freelancer for Salon, was cornered in a hallway after attending a panel discussion on Islam. He was chatting with The Daily Caller‘s Jamie Weinstein when 10 or so other CPAC attendees and bloggers approached. Among them, Townhall‘s Editor Katie Pavlich (Mean Girl 1) and Misfit Politics Editor-In-Chief Leah Sargent (Mean Girl 2).

“It was pretty rude,” Krohn told FishbowlDC. “I don’t want to make all this a point of controversy, but I know all three of us that were surrounded (Weinstein, Moody and myself) felt the set-up was intimidating.”

Pavlich (pictured at right), in addition to her editorial duties at Townhall, is now a “contributor” to Fox News itself and had her “coming out” party on Hannity last night debating fellow contributor Tamara Holder, known for being a punching bag token liberal on FNC and a rumored mistress of the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. Pavlich announced her new income stream on Twitter, saying, “I’ll be on with @seanhannity tonight at 9:20 est in my first appearance as an official @FoxNews contributor. Tune in ”

Bila (pictured above), the noted AMAC columnist (yeah, I’ve never heard of another either, but I thought I’d throw in “noted” to impress upon you just how irrelevant AMAC is) and FNC regular for what seems like years, also took to Twitter to announce she’s not only a FNC contributor, but also a Fox Business contributor because of her years in the business world. I’m just kidding, she was a teacher before somehow managing to become a person who has no experience in the things she’s being asked about on TV.

But there’s a catch. Sources tell FishbowlDC the would-be hires are being asked to sign four-year contracts. To his credit, Steve Bannon, who is heading up the hiring process in Washington, is succeeding despite rubbing some the wrong way. Some who have dealt with him say he tells you what he needs to and skimps on the truth. So far, however, he has snagged The Daily Caller‘s ever controversial Matthew Boyle and over the weekend TWT’s Kerry Picket announced on Twitter that she is going to work for Breitbart.com as an investigative reporter.

Reporters around town being wooed for Breitbart.com include: Katie Pavlich of Townhall, Lachlan Markay of Heritage, Charlie Spiering of the Washington Examiner, Caroline May of The Daily Caller and Daniel Halper at The Weekly Standard.

Some have described a cultish feel to the process, with phrases such as “This is the way Andrew would have wanted it” being bandied about in conversation. But some in conservative media circles aren’t taking any of this all that well. “I predict this cast of misfits once fully assembled are now going to walk around events in DC slinging their cocks around like they’re the new cool kids,” said one scribe. And another: “They look like a bunch of a folk that were rejected from working at BuzzFeed, who was like, ‘Can they post cat pics?’ And then said, ‘nevermind’ to hiring them.”
