#tbt: TODAY’s Willard Scott and ‘WKRP’s’ Loni Anderson

Willard Scott & Loni AndersonIt’s Thursday, and for anyone with an online presence, you know the day has been rebranded as Throwback Thursday, or #tbt.

On May 10th, the Susan G. Komen Foundation will host it’s Global Race for the Cure here in DC in its effort to end breast cancer. Friends over at Komen (h/t Kiki Burger) shared with us this photo of former TODAY Show weatherman Willard Scott and “WKRP’s” Loni Anderson at Komen’s first Global Race in DC, held in 1990. Prior to joining TODAY, Scott was with NBC Washington.

Komen’s race is less than 3 weeks away, and the deadline to register (and still receive an event kit with your t-shirt and bib) is Monday, April 28. We’ll see you at the finish line! And should you need any more incentive to participate, Komen announced yesterday WWE’s John Cena will serve as the event’s Grand Marshal.

Have a fun photo to share for Throwback Thursday? Send it and relevant dets to fishbowlnick@gmail.com and we’ll consider it for an upcoming Thursday post.

20140410_191649Last night at P.J. Clarke’s Sidecar, Bob Saget stopped by to discuss and answer questions about his publishing debut, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian. Looking as if he hasn’t aged since working on the set of Full House, Saget reminisced about his time on the show and of his own family, with some not-so-Danny-Tanner jokes and quips.

At times, Saget appeared nervous and possibly as if what he was about to say was upsetting, but everything came full circle with a dirty joke from America’s most famous dad.

“This book has opened up me wanting to just talk from my heart but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to go lower than my heart also,” said Saget, before an audience of at least 70, equally split between men and women.
