Fran Drescher Comes to Washington

Actress Fran Drescher was in town last week to promote some of the work she’s doing with her charity Cancer Schmancer. The cancer survivor just launched FranBrand, an all natural, carcingoten-free line of skin care to raise awareness for cancer prevention, and has even been rumored to be considering a run for office…

DC media-types Betsy Fischer, Kelley McCormick, Christina Wilke, Rich Leiby, Linda Kramer and Kiki Ryan all joined host Janet Donovan for a dinner in Drescher’s honor at Teatro Goldoni.

Former People DC Deputy Bureau Chief Linda Kramer is now Glamour Magazine’s DC contributing editor. But before she left People, she won a Henry R. Luce Award for “Outstanding Story” for her People magazine story, “Coming Home: A Love Story.” In addition, the DC bureau (which no longer exists, by the way) won for its breaking coverage of the West Virginia mining tragedy.
