Way Too Early With Politico?

Politico is taking no sleep to a new level.

At 5:50 a.m. this morning,  a roundtable of Politico Executive Editor Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, Maggie Haberman took over MSNBC’s “Way Too Early” program to do a segment called “Politico Wake-Up Call.”

The interesting part? NO MSNBC hosts were on set. Just Politico. Last week while hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezezinski were on vacation, the trio showed up on “Morning Joe” for a segment.

New show brewing?

NYT’s Bruni Goes All ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

NYT‘s Frank Bruni went all “Fifty Shades of Grey” on the MSNBC “Morning Joe” gang this morning as he told them he’d like some pain NOW thank you very much.

“We’re not talked to like adults, we’re talked to like children and I think it’s our own fault because it’s what we’ve shown we’ve wanted here. …When you listen to both candidates it’s like a contest to say you’ll feel less pain under me, you’ll feel less pain under me.  I don’t mean to get all 50 Shades of Grey on you, but I’d like some pain now.”

Host Mika Brzezinski was the only one who seemed to get the weirdness of it, replying with a semi-sarcastic, ironic,  “Okay.”

Morning Media Menu, Featuring Joe & Mika

The Morning Media Menu was live in the green room at 30 Rock today to chat with MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezezinski. The podcast was also joined White House correspondent Chuck Todd and The Nation’s Ari Melber.

Topics of the day: Twitter (of course), President Obama’s pick for FCC chair, Robert Gibbs and Jim Cramer, and Morning Joe‘s trip to the White House last week.
