At the start of May, Schwab began posting at The Daily Download, the web media site run by Lauren Ashburn and publicized by Howard Kurtz. Schwab has written four posts to-date on topics like new YouTube and LinkedIn features and a smartphone application that allows users to mimic Michelle Obama‘s fashion.

Schwab is with Daily Download on a freelance basis. She will also be freelancing for Washington Life. “Yes, just doing some freelance, trying to figure out what’s next for me,” she told FishbowlDC.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a blur this year as stars, journalists, nerdy political types — and Psy — rubbed elbows. Well, not Psy, he was busy smoking. But the rest of ‘em fawned and frolicked around the Washington Hilton oohing and ahhing at one another’s evening wear. People watching was admittedly pretty phenomenal. As evidenced by the shrieks coming from young, female bystanders salivating at the mere sight of a star. Each time an actor or well-known journalist walked by, they screamed and barked things out at them like faux paparazzi. In a moment of hilarity, one journalist, who shall remain nameless, was heard biting a security employee’s head off as they kept constantly trying to herd and push a small smattering of people waiting by the door from one end to the other. “I have two tickets, I have a right to be here and I’m not moving,” the person snapped in a display of spectacular irritation. Security immediately backed right down and eased away. And the lesson is? Yelling wins! (By the way, pictured above: actress Kate Walsh.)

4:35 p.m. Betsy tells Eddie she need 15 more minutes. He replies, “Are you trying to squeeze in a size 8 dress again?”

5:42 p.m. Eddie is running slightly behind because he has no idea how to tie a bow-tie and he couldn’t get the Tucker Carlson consult. As usual, Carlson skipped out of town for the WHCD. We learned later in the evening that he’s in New Orleans riding Go Karts with Daily Caller Publisher Neil Patel.

6:21 p.m. CBS’ Gayle King has entered the hotel in a stunner of a kelly green gown by Vicky Tiel.

6:23  p.m. The NPR greeter awaiting NPR party guests in the front of the hotel looks like he should be at the airport. He’s a vision of nerdy perfection.

6:24 p.m. Washington Examiner‘s Byron York walks into the hotel and promptly walks down the wrong set of stairs.

6: 25 p.m. It’s Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera! He’s all smiles for anyone who approaches. Up close his mustache is nothing short of thick and amazing.

6:27 p.m. A Jon Huntsman sighting. He walks in with a lovely blonde (presumably his wife) on his arm.

6:28 p.m. We get reprimanded for the second time for standing in the “wrong” place. Is there a right place? Who knows?

6:30 p.m. Holy shit. It’s Nicole Kidman. Bradley Cooper follows shortly thereafter.

6: 32 p.m. House Maj. Leader Eric Cantor is hanging out by the entrance.

6:35 p.m. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis drawing major stares in the lobby. Wilde’s flowing chocolate brown dress is unbelievable beautiful.

6:41 p.m. Dave Weigel, a big FishbowlDC fan, has been spotted. Later he’ll watch us like a hawk even though we’re not snapping his picture tonight or bothering him whatsoever.

Stanton is the Washington Bureau Chief for BuzzFeed and last night was the launch of the website’s new series wherein newsmakers are invited to sit before an audience and answer questions. And there’s free beer.

It’s essentially the same thing as Politico‘s Playbook Breakfast, “minus the stale bagels, plus the beer,” cracked BuzzFeed‘s Politics Editor McKay Coppins to FishbowlDC. (The site’s publicist Ashley McCollum boasts that she came up with that description.)

The first guest: Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). For roughly 45 minutes Rubio answered questions from BuzzFeed Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith about immigration, gay marriage and the future of the Republican Party. Of course, lengthy segments here and there were spent on why Rubio prefers Tupac over Biggie Smalls (“His lyrics are more insightful in my opinion.”) and whether he had to “think long and hard” before letting his son play recreational football. “I don’t know she is,” he said when asked if we could send Miller his regards at the red carpet premier of Netflix’s “House of Cards” last night at the Newseum. FishbowlDC explained that Miller tipped off the FBI about details surrounding the Jack Abramoff scandal, as portrayed in the film “Casino Jack,” starring Spacey himself. “Oh,” Spacey said, sort of recalling who Miller is. “Hi! Sure. I don’t know what you’re asking me,” he said. Then his handlers moved him along.

“House of Cards” tells the story of Francis Underwood, played by Spacey, a congressional Democrat who wheels and deals his way to the top of the political world. Michael Dobbs, the creator, told FishbowlDC that he wrote the story “as a form of therapy” after having worked as the chief of staff to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the late ’80s.

The Washington news corps. plays a heavy, fictional role in the show, which is based on the original 1990s BBC series of the same name. James Foley, one of the show’s directors, said while working on story lines he’d ask himself whether it would be believable if he saw it reported on CNN. It’s anyone’s guess what kind of co-columnist Cohn will be as her previous appeared in publications such as US WEEKLY and Human Events. She also interned for Christianity Today. She graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois, a Christian college where drinking, smoking, pornography and sex are taboo and where evolutionary biology is now accepted, but this wasn’t always true. Wilkins was at it today. “FAIL FAIL FAIL – AGAIN Nikki Schwab wrote a piece saying the Children’s Inaugural Concert 2013 was NOT HAPPENING, WRONG,” he snapped today on Twitter. Schwab had written a report saying a concert planned for President Obama‘s re-inauguration wasn’t happening. The concert is reportedly on schedule to take place. (We were unable to locate Schwab’s report that the concert wasn’t happening. It may have been deleted.)

Rogers’ move comes after just 10 months with the Examiner. Isn’t that a little premature? Before the Examiner she worked for the Titanic TBD.

“We actually originally wanted to hire Jenny for this job more than a year ago, when she was at TBD, but we wound up not being able to fill the position at all due to budget constraints,” WCP Editor Mike Madden told FishbowlDC. “Her work at TBD was great — lively, creative, and smart coverage of whatever they threw her onto. I’ve read her Yeas and Nays stuff since she went to the Examiner and liked it, as well, and I’m very glad we’re able to hire her now.”

As for her current boss, the Examiner‘s Executive Editor Stephen Smith, he’s cordial about Rogers’ short-lived tenure at the paper. “I would have been surprised if Jenny had left to take a job similar to the one she had here,” he said, “but she had a chance to do something entirely different, assigning and editing pieces and writing some cover stories of her own.”

When we asked for comment, Schwab directed us to the restaurant, which she said had provided her with what turned out to be false information. “Talk to the Ping Pong folks, they’re still certain he was in there and that he mentioned them — the whole thing baffles my mind.” (Clarification: Confusion galore — Nikki was actually speaking on the record to us so we have removed the phrase “stayed mum.” The world can now move on.)

As is the Examiner‘s customary policy, corrections follow whether an item is removed or not. But that didn’t happen — at least not in the 24-hour aftermath of Bourdain’s temper tantrum. So we inquired about it with Examiner Editor Stephen Smith.
