Daily Caller Performs Dramatic Reading of Weiner Sexts

We don’t need to rehash the newest saga of New York mayoral candidate, former congressman and now perpetual sexter Anthony Weiner. We know you’ve got all the details. But… just in case you managed to avoid reading what he actually said to his latest target, The Daily Caller is of course here to help you out, with reporter Patrick Howley.

“The Daily Caller presents its official response to Weiner’s press conference with a reading of some of Weiner’s literary work,” Howley said in a post late last night. What followed was exactly that, a video of him reading Weiner’s sexts. It’s after the jump, and keep in mind as you watch that it’s supposed to be funny, not horribly unsettling.

Howley told FishbowlDC, “We felt that it was only fair that the work of Anthony Weiner receive a proper reading. He’s a true romantic, and hopefully my performance captures that.” Asked if Weiner’s sexts required practice or if it all went smoothly in one take, Howley said, “I think we took two takes. It took me a little bit of practice to be able to start a sentence with ‘My balls…’ All in all, a good use of Tucker’s office.”

The film was directed by the great Daily Caller video reporter Sarah Hofmann. Definitely something to note on her resumé when Hollywood comes calling.

CNN’s Blitzer, O’Brien Make Cameos in Netflix’s ‘House of Cards’

Though he participated in a well-documented Twitter fight back in 2009 with TWT‘s Emily Miller, it appears actor Kevin Spacey has forgotten who she is.

“I don’t know she is,” he said when asked if we could send Miller his regards at the red carpet premier of Netflix’s “House of Cards” last night at the Newseum. FishbowlDC explained that Miller tipped off the FBI about details surrounding the Jack Abramoff scandal, as portrayed in the film “Casino Jack,” starring Spacey himself. “Oh,” Spacey said, sort of recalling who Miller is. “Hi! Sure. I don’t know what you’re asking me,” he said. Then his handlers moved him along.

“House of Cards” tells the story of Francis Underwood, played by Spacey, a congressional Democrat who wheels and deals his way to the top of the political world. Michael Dobbs, the creator, told FishbowlDC that he wrote the story “as a form of therapy” after having worked as the chief of staff to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the late ’80s.

The Washington news corps. plays a heavy, fictional role in the show, which is based on the original 1990s BBC series of the same name. James Foley, one of the show’s directors, said while working on story lines he’d ask himself whether it would be believable if he saw it reported on CNN. If not, he’d ask the lead writer for adjustments to the script. He also said actual on-air talent from CNN make cameos in the show, including… Read more

Publicist Gobbles Garnish At Limbaugh Book Party

Conservative author David Limbaugh joined Regnery Publishing for a party last night celebrating his book The Great Destroyer‘s place on the NYT bestseller list for four weeks so far.

Limbaugh gave what can only be described as a passionate, if a little frantic and long-winded speech on just how bad he wants President Barack Obama to lose the election. Limbaugh said he’s been asked if he simply writes books to make money. “If I had to choose between having a successful book and Obama winning and having an unsuccessful book and Obama losing,” he said, “I’d choose the latter.”

After the speech the floor was opened for Q&A. Because no one piped up immediately, Limbaugh volunteered TWT‘s Emily Miller who he is obviously familiar with, to ask something. Miller, known for writing a series of columns on the trouble of legally obtaining a gun in D.C., asked, “What’s gonna happen to our guns if this man (Obama) is elected?” From nearby Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) chimed in, “Keep them loaded.”

Shortly after we spotted Miller’s colleague Kerry Picket whose left leg was all kinds of banged up. She told us the black and blue bruises around her shin and knee were caused from a mountain biking accident. “I supermanned over the handlebars” Picket told us. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, though she seemed fine.

During dessert time we watched in amazement as D.C. publicist Janet Donovan skipped over the actual food and opted to eat the blackberry garnishes scattered around the platters. “Garnish is my favorite,” Donovan said, snatching up the for-decoration berries.
