HotAir.com has hired Tina Korbe to be on the scene in Washington. It turns out she’s used to being the center of attention. She was Arkansas Jr. Miss 2006 and before that, oompeted in the Miss Teen Arkansas America pageant where she was a top 10 semi-finalist and won the preliminary lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit) award.

“My hope is to help others find the success that goal-setting and striving to Be Your Best Self can bring,” she wrote online on a site called “SetYourGoalandGo.com.” She signed off, saying, “Good luck on your life’s journey and may God bless you!”

Among her favorite quotes as displayed on the site is by Frank Scully: “Why not go out on a limb? Isn’t that where the fruit is?”

Korbe joins Ed Morrissey and the anonymous Allapundit in the reporting, writing, and delivering what they deem the “most pertinent news in the world of conservative politics.” She was a staff writer at the Heritage Foundation in the Center for Media and Public Policy, the foundation’s investigative journalism outlet. Korbe’s experience with the Heritage Foundation will be “instrumental” in her new role for HotAir.com. She will be a blogger, writer, and editor.

Korbe graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish. While there, she served as the editor of the campus newspaper and daily news website, the Arkansas Traveler.
