Could the Washington Post get naming rights for the Nationals’ new stadium?

Washington D.C.: Marc, so will the new stadium be named The Washington Post Field at Nationals Stadium?

Marc Fisher: Interesting. Post Park. I like it because I’m an alliteration fan, but I’m queasy about it because no journalist can be comfortable when his parent company gets involved corporately in stuff we cover as a news operation. That said, the Post and the Graham family are terrific supporters of the civic good–check out the donors anytime you’re at an arts or cultural event in the area–so it might make sense for the company to invest in the naming rights.

Considering the Post’s blogging payment policy, one has to wonder if, under this scenario, Posties will be asked to play a few innings of ball…without pay.
