Taking Out The Trash

Almost every day we end up falling behind as the afternoon rolls on–there’s just too much to blog first thing in the morning, and then each day is quickly overtaken with other things. Mondays are always particularly bad because they combine the Times’ big media stories in the business section with Howard Kurtz’s column and his weekly chat. Those things alone could be fodder for a full day on the blog. Sigh.

Thus just because we feel guilty, we’re going to go ahead and “throw some things out with the trash” today, even though it’s not Friday.

Stories we could have blogged today, but didn’t:

  • Howard Kurtz’s column on why journalists hate bloggers. Answer? Bloggers hate journalists.
  • Howard Kurtz’s chat where it appears some people really like Ann Coulter–and some people really don’t.
  • ABC News and its president are struggling to define themselves and figure out their future given that the network’s main public faces are fading, according to Jacques Steinberg.
  • Rupert Murdoch has challenged anyone (ANYONE!) to prove Fox News Channel is biased.
  • Lastly, perhaps in the most momentous moment of the day: In between random news roundups and writing about Denny’s and humor magazines at Yale, Wonkette came up with a funny and original idea that actually has something to do with Washington and doesn’t mention intercourse of any kind! Why are you and what have you done with the fake Wonkette?

Phew. That’s it. Thankfully tomorrow’s another big day.
