Tapper Goes Silent

Our favorite poet ABC’s Jake Tapper is taking a break from his blog. In a surprise message posted yesterday afternoon, Tapper wrote:

Thanks for your insights and attention for these last few months. I’ve decided to take a break from blogging at ABCNews.com for a host of complicated reasons. Please continue to read the excellent work on abcnews.com–

No word on whether this sudden departure is connected to rumors that he’s taking Meredith Vieira‘s spot on “The View.”

Seriously, though, Jake appears to be traveling and so we haven’t talked to him, but we can’t help but speculate that this does not appear to be a voluntary “break.” He’s blogged regularly, thoughtfully, and passionately for months now and then all of a sudden for “complicated reasons” he’s stopping?

Wonder if John Green‘s emails have made ABC wary of unscripted writing by reporters. Is Tapper being censored?
