The Hill Gains One, Loses Another

This just in…from The Hill’s Editor Hugo Gurdon:

I wanted to let you know about a few changes in the newsroom.

Russell Berman, who was previously at AOL News and The New York Sun
(after internships at Newsday and the Los Angeles Times), will join
us on April 2 as a staff writer covering the House Democrats.

Erika Niedowski, who has been Moscow correspondent for the Baltimore
Sun, Washington bureau chief for the National, and assistant managing
editor of the Washington City Paper, will become an assistant editor
at The Hill on April 19.

I am delighted by these two arrivals. There is also one departure.
Jeff Young has decided to take a new direction in his career and is
leaving us to join Bloomberg. He has been at The Hill five years
covering healthcare for the Business & Lobbying section. He has been
in the thick of the news reporting healthcare reform for the past
year and I am very grateful to him for the long hours he has spent
making sure our coverage stood out. I am sure that you join me in
wishing Jeff all the best in the future.

Thanks, Hugo
