The Sun Will Come Out…

…tomorrow? Who knows. From today’s Walter Pincus/Jim VandeHei Post piece:

“Some lawyers close to the case cited courthouse talk that Fitzgerald might announce his findings as early as tomorrow.”

The story did add the caveat…

“though hard evidence about his intentions and timing remained elusive.”

We do know, however, that Fitzgerald will announce his findings–if any–here in DC.

Now go out, enjoy the sunny weather and, of course, imbibe. We’ll make sure you’ve got the latest on Plame-gate (or Nadagate according to John Tierney) when you fire up the computer tomorrow morning.

> An emailer adds: “Yesterday, as you know, Fitzgerald’s office made a rare, on-the-record statement to the media saying that any announcements regarding indictments would be made here in Washington, D.C. and not in Chicago, where Fitzgerald is based. That makes me think that not only is an announcement imminent, indictments may be, too.

“This is pure speculation on my part, admittedly from someone who has never been a close observer of grand jury proceedings. However, since Fitzgerald is based in Chicago, it would make more sense to me for him to announce his findings there if he had no plans to indict anyone. Making the announcement in Chicago, after spending so much time in Washington, D.C. working on this, would be a symbolic end to his work – a coming home, of sorts. However, if he is planning on indictments, especially of high-level political officials in or near the White House, it seems to make sense he would do so in Washington.”
