The Voice Goes Silent

GannonGate is (unofficially) over. Last night, the Talon News reporter Jeff Gannon, a.k.a. James D. Guckert, threw in the towel:

Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.

Thank you to all those who supported me.

We can’t confirm that Gannon is indeed Guckert, but we’ve been trying to get a hold of Gannon since yesterday afternoon to no avail. Previously, he’s always responded quickly. It seems as if the Kossacks weren’t on the right track, he might have called (again) to gleefully chortle.

Wonder how long it’ll take him to ink a book deal with Regnery Publishing? “White House Talking Points: How The Vast Left-Wing Blogosphere Ended My Reporting Career.”
