‘This Week’ at 7-Year Low in Younger Viewers
Young TV news viewers may not be taken with Sunday morning public affairs shows in general, but last week’s ABC “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” posted its lowest A25-54 demo rating in more than 7 years — since August 24, 2003 — among regularly scheduled telecasts.
Amanpour’s show came in third in both Total Viewers and the younger demo. Versus the prior week, “This Week” had a demo drop of -21% and a Total Viewer decline of -4%. Amanpour had two big newsmakers on the show: Secy of State Hillary Clinton and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
