Toeplitz To Roll Call

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve hired Shira Toeplitz of the Hotline to fill the vacancy on the Politics desk.
Shira’s a real go-getter who is going to bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the job. She’s been at the Hotline for the past two years, covering several states, monitoring House leadership elections, and writing about some of the GOP presidential candidates. She also created “On the Download,” a weekly column about politics and technology that has appeared in both the Hotline and Technology Daily.
Shira has also worked as an intern at the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents Association, covering the PA statehouse for six papers, and has done some impressive freelance work.
A graduate of Northwestern, Shira will join us on Oct. 1. I’ll put out a new state-by-state list of the Politics beats after she’s arrived.
In the meantime, my thanks to David D., Matt and John M. for their great work while we’ve been short-handed, and to everyone else who has helped fill in the gaps.
