Tom Hanks Is Deep Throat

The family of W. Mark Felt, who may not even really remember he was Deep Throat, has sold his life story to PublicAffairs Books and Universal Pictures for a seven-figure sum.

The combination autobiography and biography has been optioned by Tom Hanks’ production compnay, Playtone, and will be called “A G-Man’s Life: The FBI, Being ‘Deep Throat’ and the Struggle for Honor in Washington.” It will be out mid-next year.

Publishing sources told the Post yesterday “the book will blend Felt’s own writing about his life, including his out-of-print 1979 memoir, ‘The FBI Pyramid: From the Inside,’ and some unpublished material, with contributions from Felt’s family and from lawyer John D. O’Connor.”
