TPM Promotes 23-year-old to Deputy Publisher

Six short months after arriving to TPM Callie Schweitzer has been promoted to Deputy Publisher, a spot last held by Andrew Golis (now at Frontline, previously at Yahoo! News blogs).

Big shoes for 23-year-old Schweitzer to fill. But she’s excited and says she’s up to the task.

About her past…She began TPM after graduating from USC in May. At USC, she was Editor-in-Chief of Neon Tommy, Annenberg’s 24/7 online news site, which is the number one most trafficked online-only university publication in America. She was also a senior news editor and a staff writer. She oversaw a staff of more than 200 reporters and editors and coordinated coverage for breaking news, day-to-day reporting and events like Obama’s visit to USC in October 2010, the midterm elections in November 2010 and the national education protests in March 2010.

While in school, she interned at People magazine and NYT before joining TPM.

She told FishbowlDC: “At TPM I’ve worked alongside Publisher Josh Marshall learning the ins and outs of the publishing, business and tech side of the operation. Needless to say, I’m ecstatic about this opportunity!”

Congratulations to Schweitzer.
