UPDATE: Erdos & Morgan Results

Earlier today on FishbowlDC: “Erdos & Morgan: Let The Spin Begin

Folks from various Capitol Hill publications are writing in to FishbowlDC with more on this year’s highly anticipated Erdos & Morgan Opinion Leaders study.

Roll Call chimes in with a release:

Roll Call, Capitol Hill’s leading news source for coverage of the people, politics and process that shape Congress, again achieved top rank in overall readership among all other publications targeting Congressional Opinion Leaders in the highly anticipated biennial Opinion Leaders study released by independent research firm Erdos & Morgan.

That said, Roll Call saw a drop in readership/influence from the previous Erdos & Morgan study, going from 95 percent readership on to around 80, we hear. But they still remain number one on Capitol Hill. Politico’s release touts being number one “in total readership among opinion leaders nationally.”

“I think [Roll Call] is at 80, The Hill at 76, NJ low 70s. Politico 69 or 70, ahead of CQ,” says one source, paraphrasing the results.

National Journal/Congress Daily fared well. In the survey’s “Influential” category, National Journal is #2, only behind the Washington Post (was 5th in 2006). In “Objective” category, CongressDaily ranks #1 (same as 2006) and National Journal is #2 (same as 2006). In “Credible” category, National Journal is again #1 and CongressDaily is #2. “Enjoyable”? National Journal shoots from #9 in 2006 to #1 this year (CongressDaily holds at #18).
