VF Doodles on Thomas Friedman
Vanity Fair takes note of what they call NYT’s Thomas Friedman‘s “Five Worst Predictions.” The piece that started it all is Tuesday’s “Obama’s Ball and Chain” on the economy.
“Friedman is a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, a staple of The New York Times, and a bestselling author, and thus this prediction should be taken very seriously—in some alternate universe where the news media is a meritocracy and Thomas Friedman is a competent observer of the world and its workings. The rest of us can probably relax.”
VF starts in 2000 hitting Friedman on pieces on China and Colin Powell’s Secretary of State nomination, then in 2001 on Putin, and the topics of Afghanistan and Iraq round out the top five.
